Thank you for your interest in this special creative project of mine "In Her Light". As part of this project, I will selecting 30 women (over 30 special appointment days) photographed as part of this empowering fine art art project. 

All beauty is celebrated here...No "perfect body" skewed societal standards required. No performing. Just you, seen through kind, generous eyes, exactly as you are right now in an intimate portrait setting. 

This photo shoot is designed to commence as a special book of all 30 selected participants. Q+A below to learn about this project.

WHAT TO CONSIDER

IN HER OWN LIGHT — PROJECT TERMS & PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

1. The Project. In Her Own Light is a limited creative series photographing between September and December 2026. A set number of 30 women over 30 session dates. Each of the 30 to be selected by application, will appear in the book; with one signature image selected by Cate, and a personal story included to be gathered into a printed book and/or gallery exhibition, with related editorial features by Life As Fine Art. The book will be available for purchase to the public. Participants will receive a discount code if they wish to purchase the printed book, as a thank you for participating.

2. Booking & Your Date. Your session date is reserved with a non-refundable booking fee of $199.  The normal studio session reservation rate is typically $500! but for this special project your reservation will be a non refundable $199, saving you over $300+ (resulting in additional savings if you choose to purchase album/wall/digital collection). Upon completion of your photo session, this $199 reservation fee converts to a $199 studio credit which will be applied toward your artwork order (an album, digital collection or specific curated wall art collections). The credit is single-use, non-transferable, non-refundable, has no cash value, cannot be applied to the booking fee itself, and is forfeited if the session is cancelled by you or not completed within the project window.  

3. Investment. If you choose to purchase a collection for yourself, a printed, wall art or digital collections begin as low as $1,500 and up for printed albums and wall art and digital collections. The booking fee and resulting credit are separate from and applied toward this minimum collection selection. Final artwork selections are made at your in-person reveal following the session.  


4. Rescheduling & Cancellation. The reservation fee is non-refundable and will be forfeited for no-shows or cancellations inside 3 days. Dates are limited and time-sensitive to the project window to complete in 2026. 

5. What's Included. Your session as complimentary when, once completed will be converted to a $199 credit to spend towards purchase of album, digital collection, or curated wall art.. All rights and typical accommodations will be made for you as per a regular studio session, including Pre-session creative consultation and styling guidance; professional hair and makeup (booked for you, you pay artists directly); a guided fine-art session; and an in-person reveal/ordering appointment. You will have complete ability to select and purchase images from your photo experience with Cate.

6. Image & Story Use — Because this is an intimate portrait project, you will be expected to share the images publicly displayed in the book and online. 


6a. Permissions. You will sign a waiver to participate. You will not choose which of your selected images shall appear in the book, which is the artists (Cate Scaglione) discretion. However, we will adhere to privacy stipulations as indicated in the waiver (for example - "no nudity" etc.

You will initial each permission separately:

  • ☐ Session only — your images are yours; nothing is shared publicly. However, your album credit of $199 will not be applied.
  • ☐ The book — one selected image and your story may be included in the printed In Her Own Light collection, which may be sold or distributed.
  • ☐ Exhibition — your image MAY be displayed in a gallery showing of the series if scheduled in 2027.
  • ☐ Marketing — your images may appear on the Life As Fine Art website, blog, and social media.

Permission granted for one use does not imply the others. You may specify that your image appear without your name. You will not choose nor review any image before it is published.

7. Grant of Rights. For the uses you affirmatively select above, you grant Life As Fine Art a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, and display the selected image(s) and story for those purposes. Life As Fine Art retains artist copyright in all photographs. This grant continues for materials already produced or published (e.g., printed books) and does not require additional compensation.

8. Withdrawal. You may withdraw a permission at any time by written notice; withdrawal applies going forward and does not require recall of a book already printed or materials already in circulation.

9. Confidentiality of Participation. Life As Fine Art will not identify you as a participant beyond the permissions you grant.

10. Governing Terms. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. [Signature, printed name, date.]

    Answer a few honest questions so I can get to know the real you before we ever pick up the camera.

    We talk through your vision

    If it’s a fit, we plan a session designed entirely around your story, your comfort, and what you want to feel.

  3. 03

    You’re photographed and guided

    Styling, hair and makeup, and direction the whole way through. You are never left guessing how to pose or stand, or move.

  4. 04

    You see yourself as art

    At the reveal, you meet the woman on the screen. For most, it changes how they see themselves for good.

    You'll have a large credit to use towards what you want to purchase.

The women who apply are rarely “ready.” They’re just willing to get out of the comfort zone.
